¡El 15 de septiembre al 15 de octubre es el mes de la Herencia Latinx/Hispana! En Ventures nos esforzamos para centrar y celebrar nuestra comunidad. Para celebrar y honrar este mes, vamos a presentar a miembros de la comunidad Ventures y compartiremos sus historias y experiencias.
September 15th-October 15th is Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month! At Ventures we work to center and celebrate our community. To celebrate and honor this month, we will be featuring members of the Ventures community and sharing their stories and experiences.

1. ¿Puedes contarnos más sobre tu negocio y qué te inspiró a iniciarlo? || Can you tell us more about your business and what inspired you to start it?
El negocio es una compañía de multi servicios la cual me toca satisfacer las necesidades a los clientes de casa y lugares comerciales entre los servicios que ofrecemos son: limpieza, lavado a presión, recolección de basura y transporte. Este negocio nacio en junio del 2020 debido a la pandemia.
Yo perdí mi empleo en abril del 2020 Al principio, yo era el único que hacía el trabajo; Ahora tengo 3 empleados de tiempo completo trabajando conmigo.
The business is a multi-service company that serves the needs of residential and commercial customers some of the services are: Janitorial, pressure washing, trash hauling and junk removal. My business was born in June 2020 due to the pandemic.
I lost my job in April 2020 At first, I was the only one doing the work; I now have 3 full time employees working with me.
2. Si te identificas como miembro de la comunidad latina/hispana, ¿cómo interactúa tu identidad con lo que haces como emprendedor? || If you identify as a member of the Latinx/Hispanic community, how does your identity interact with what you do as an entrepreneur?
Yo aporto y soy voluntario en esta organización que está cerca de mi casa que se llama Ethnic Support Counsil, soy voluntario en eventos culturales y también ofrezco servicios de limpieza a no costo. Yo soy voluntario en la clase de licencia de conducir y ayudo a la comunidad hispana para que puedan tomar el examen de escritura para que puedan tomar su licencia de conducir. Estoy estudiando para ser contador y he ayudado a la comunidad hispana a obtener licencias comerciales.
I am a volunteer in this organization that is close to my house called the Ethnic Support Council, I am a volunteer in cultural events and I also offer cleaning services at no cost. I volunteer in the driver’s license class and assist the Hispanic community with the writing test so they can take their driver’s license. I am studying to be an accountant and have helped the Hispanic community obtain business licenses at no cost to them for my services.
3. Si su negocio apoya a la comunidad latina/hispana, ¿cómo es ese apoyo? || If your business supports the Latinx/Hispanic community, what does that support look like?
Mi interacción es apoyar a la comunidad hispana apoyándolos y dándoles orientación sobre cómo acceder a sus negocios, otra forma es dándoles la oportunidad de darles trabajo ya que muchos no tienen la oportunidad de trabajar debido a su estado migratorio. También hago referencias a mis clientes para conectarlos con otros hispanos que hacen techos, construcción y pintura.
My interaction is to support the Hispanic community by supporting them and giving them guidance on how to grow their businesses, another way is by giving them work since many do not have the opportunity to work elsewhere due to their immigration status. I also make referrals to my clients and connect them with other Hispanic owned businesses like roofing, construction, painting and other services.
4. ¿Por qué crees que es importante crear espacios seguros y fomentar un sentido de comunidad para los latinos/hispanos? || Why do you think it is important to create safe spaces and foster a sense of community for Latinx/Hispanic folks?
Cuando los hispanos se integran con otros hispanos pueden apoyarse más en la comunidad y se fortalecen cuando tienen el apoyo de otra persona latina sin importar de dónde vengan es maravilloso cuando los hispanos se encuentran en la fe el retorno es amable. Pero los espacios que hay disponibles son pequeños creo que se necesitan más oportunidades para que los latinos crezcan y se desarrollen como seres humanos. Se necesita una organización que ayude a los latinos a asociarse con la comunidad, para que las familias e individuales puedan aprovechar las oportunidades que este país nos ofrece
When Hispanics integrate with other Hispanics they can support each other more in the community and they are strengthened when they have the support of another Latino no matter where they come from it is wonderful when Hispanics meet in faith the return is kind. But the spaces that are available are small. I believe that more opportunities are needed for Latinos to grow and develop as human beings. An organization is needed to help Latinos associate with the community, this way families and individuals can take advantage of the opportunities that this country has to offer
5. ¿Qué significa para usted el Mes de la Herencia Latina/Hispana? || What does Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month mean to you?
Ya que yo no he estado en los estados unidos por mucho tiempo no se mucho de esta tradición ya que la mayor parte hemos estado en la pandemia, pero me da gozo saber que celebren la comunidad latina.
Since I have not been in the United States for a long time, I do not know much about this tradition since most of the time we have been in the pandemic, but it gives me joy to know that the Latino community is being celebrated.
