Dave joined the Ventures Board in 1998.
Dave has been involved with Ventures since first collaborating with Peter Rose, the Founder, back in 1998. Dave’s first tenure as a Board member lasted 12 years and began in 1998. After a short hiatus, he rejoined the Board as the longest serving Member. His past involvement included serving as the Board President twice. He considers this involvement among the most meaningful in his life.
Dave is semi-retired having worked in two different careers, currently still working on Estate Planning as an attorney.
Prior to retirement, Dave was a trial attorney handling a very complex civil litigation practice in employment, business, real estate, personal injury, and construction law. He left his full-time law practice in 2005 to start a new career and dedicated himself to working in the nonprofit sector, helping the poor and marginalized.
He has worked with Agros International to help raise funding to support rural farmers in Central America in economic development, education, healthcare, and agriculture development. Later, he worked with St. Vincent de Paul to meet the needs of low-income residents in Puget Sound and helped them secure housing, employment, and assistance with rent and utilities. His final work in the nonprofit sector was as the Director of Development with Horizon House, a retirement community. He is active in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and has served on more than 20 community boards over the decades. An active Rotary member, he is a past Rotarian of the year and past President of his club.
He is still active doing triathlons swimming, biking and running. He is married happily for 45 years to Marti and have 2 wonderful adult kids and 4 grandchildren.
