New leader brings a record of nonprofit leadership, public service, and business ownership.
Seattle, WA – Ventures, a Seattle-based nonprofit organization focused on poverty alleviation through small business ownership, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Monique Valenzuela as the new Executive Director, marking an exciting new chapter for the organization. Valenzuela brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the region’s economy to her new role.
Valenzuela has served as the Executive Director of The Youth Maritime Foundation and CEO of their affiliate companies and brings a depth of service and leadership experience. Valenzuela previously served as Chair of the Tacoma Utility Board, setting policy and managing a $2 billion biennial budget. Valenzuela has demonstrated exceptional leadership and visionary thinking as an award-winning restaurant owner and as an instructor with Clover Park Technical College, a valuable experience which will surely benefit Ventures’ clients who aspire to establish their own businesses.

Valenzuela will spearhead Ventures’ ongoing mission to empower individuals with limited resources and unlimited potential through small business ownership. As Ventures welcomes Monique Valenzuela as the new Executive Director, the organization is poised to embark on expanding its mission of empowering individuals and fostering economic growth, and making a lasting difference in the community with the launch of new initiatives like the Small Business Innovation Assistance Program (SBIA) in partnership with Snohomish County and Connect Casino Road.
