Paul joined the Ventures Board in 2023.
Paul admires the work that Ventures does to help provide opportunity through entrepreneurship.
He dropped out of grad school and started a farmers’ market stand in LA that eventually turned into a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Ballard called Porkchop & Co. When the pandemic began, he changed the business model to an all “take out” establishment. After a few months of that, he realized he liked the new system and officially changed the name to Rachel’s Bagels and Burritos.
Paul grew up in Cincinnati. His mother’s side of the family immigrated from Chile, and he saw how difficult it was for them to rebuild their lives. Before he opened the restaurant, he wanted to be a teacher. He sees Ventures as a great way for to bring the two threads together.
Paul brings to the board years of experience in small business operations, marketing, and networking.
He is also a board member for the Seattle Restaurant Alliance.
