Mayra joined the Ventures team in 2016.
As the Financial Business Specialist, Mayra teaches the Financial Management Course, financial literacy workshops, assists entrepreneurs with financial questions and guides through the business licensing process. She also helps clients register their businesses as an LLC.
Prior to joining Ventures, Mayra owned an interior design company for 25 years, a restaurant for four years and today is an independent Insurance agent. Growing up, both of her parents owned and managed their own businesses. Her father had a sock manufacturing company and mother has owned a restaurant for over 45 years.
Since Mayra has been an entrepreneur herself, she knows the unique challenges that many small business owners experience. She was drawn to Ventures’ mission and identified with the organization’s goals and vision. Mayra loves working with people and enjoys sharing whatever knowledge she may have to assist her fellow entrepreneurs.
Mayra’s dream business is a yoga studio with a natural juice and tea bar. She is a certified yoga instructor and loves different styles of yoga from acrobatic yoga to restorative yoga. She’s drawn to yoga for the mind and body awareness and different forms of natural healing.
