Yo Soy Unico

Oct 4, 2018 | Maternity & Children Services, Service

Maria Carmen Corbin started Yo Soy Unico, a bilingual daycare in her home in 2012 in Federal Way, with capacity for just 6 kids. Yo Soy Unico quickly had a waiting list and in 2015, Maria opened a second daycare center in Auburn with the capacity of 25 children. Her bilingual and bicultural child development center with an environmental focus is very popular.

Maria Carmen Corbin earned an architect and teaching degree in Mexico. In 1998 she moved to the United States and worked in daycares and nursing homes. She earned a bilingual teacher certificate in 2011 and then decided to open an in-home daycare. In 2013, she attended Ventures classes and worked on her business plan to open a second “Yo Soy Unico” location. In October 2015, Yo Soy Unico was granted the highest ranking for quality by Early Achievers, Washington State’s Department of Early Learning quality rating and improvement system.
