Waterhole – Orantes Original

Feb 18, 2020 | Arts & Crafts Products, Product

Jose Orantes is a Guatemalan artist and creator of “fun animal hats”. He moved to Seattle in 1978, and has done exhibits in Washington, Chicago, San Francisco, and other cities around the country. Some of his work is also exhibited in parts of Central and South America.

He’s been part of WASAC (Washington State Art Commission) with the Artist in Residence Program, creating colorful murals with Community Groups, Schools, and Correctional Institutions.

Each “Fun Animal Hat” comes from Jose Orantes’ original artwork, that depicts characteristics of each animal, and transforms from a flat 11″x 17″ canvas to a 3D adjustable Animal Hat.

Jose has collaborated with Bumbershoot Music Festival in Seattle and World Music & Dance in Redmond in the past, and hosts workshops at family events at the Seattle Center and around the city.
