Owners Noemi Mendez and husband Oscar Mendez come from a long line of traditional Mexican cooks and culinary entrepreneurs. Oscar’s father ran a successful tamale business in Mexico City just like his grandfather before him. After working for his father, he decided to put his own taste into his own business, and moved away from tamales to make Al Pastor the company’s signature dish, although the menu is still heavily influenced by traditional recipes.
