Brian joined the Ventures Board in 2023.
Brian joined the Ventures board of directors with a passion for inspiring the dignity of good work through entrepreneurship. He appreciates that Ventures supports people making bold decisions towards creating their sustainable business. Brian plans to use his strategic and mission knowledge along with innovation experiences to help Ventures clients.
He has had a life-long interest in vocation and microenterprises. He has owned several businesses including landscape, restaurant, and software. Brian launched the Washington CASH Business Incubator and renovated/owned Seattle’s oldest barbershop Pioneer Barber Company. His private practice, InsideWorks, served 400 people with disabilities striving to be self-employed. He is actively involved in national policy development supporting the self-employed with disabilities and is a member of state and national counseling associations.
Brian earned his BA in Psychology from the University of Arizona and K-8 Teaching Certificate from WWU. When the pandemic closed his practice and barbershop, he pivoted to a lifelong dream of becoming a therapist by finishing a master’s in Rehab Counseling at WWU. Presently, he is a vocational rehabilitation counselor working at the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and relaunched InsideWorks, PLLC as a telehealth counseling service.
Brian was raised in Arizona with Seattle being his home for 35 years.
