The philosophy of Lacewing is inspired by its namesake: beautiful and delicate while tough and functional. Lacewing is also a culmination of professional experience gained through environmental and community stewardship. Britt completed graduate work at the University of Michigan followed by ten years of experience building sustainable communities and five years of experience working with public and private gardens/landscapes solidified her commitment to this work.Since childhood, Britt has been enamored of nature, creating captivating arrangements of discovered treasures. Lacewing is an extension of her desire to arrange nature’s perfect creations in a way that celebrates the unique features of the home landscape where they were grown. She is eager to share this vision with her clients. Her collaborative approach with clients will develop a refreshed vision for the property through landscape maintenance, soil building, pruning, and design. Britt’s holistic approach to horticulture is grounded in both art and science. She strives to build sustainable, cozy, and inviting backyard, patio and balcony ecosystems where magnificent and mundane botanicals provide a personalized canvas for garden-to-vase floral designs. Britt obtained the WSU Master Gardener certification, the Seattle Tilth Master Composter certification, and is pursuing a landscape horticulture certificate at South Seattle College.
