Lilian Quintanilla, owner of Lily’s Salvadorian Catering, creates authentic, delicious Salvadoran meals. Lilian heard about Ventures’ Latino business development program from a friend.
After graduating from the Eight Week Business Development Training, she has gone on to build her business with the help of multiple services at Ventures, including one-on-one technical assistance, showcases and advanced training programs that helped her solidify her business plan around financials, sales, marketing, and business operations. Lilian also participated in the ESL courses through Ventures’ partnership with Renton Technical College.
The microlending program at Ventures was a big piece of Lilian’s business success. She received her first microloan of $1,000 in 2012, her second loan of $2,000 in 2013, and is on track to pay off a $3,500 loan this year.
In 2013, Lilian received her Green Card and purchased a truck for her business, which has helped her expand the business to reach more of the Greater Seattle area. She sells at a variety of Farmer’s Markets including Columbia City, Fremont, University District, and Redmond as well as catering special events during the week. She has three employees on staff and recently got married in August of 2014.
