In September, we began our third Packaged Foods Course where business owners learn how to run specialty packaged food businesses. Bottled sauces, teas, shelf-stable dry goods, and items like chocolates and candies go through vigorous licensing and permitting processes. Our food incubator team works side-by-side with these businesses on sourcing, costing, marketing, and production strategies over seven weeks. This culminates with a pitch night where local specialty food buyers network with our entrepreneurs.

On October 4th, we celebrated another graduation! Eighteen entrepreneurs completed our Spanish eight-week Business Basics Course in SeaTac. This program was made possible through a partnership with the SeaTac-Tukwila Food Innovation Network. This graduation was especially meaningful because marked the completion of our two-year Northwest Area Foundation grant deliverables. Stay tuned to hear more about this accomplishment.

On Tuesday nights, we hold our Financial Management Course. You can find an enthusiastic and motivated group of entrepreneurs tackling everything finance. This is one of our most transformative courses – it’s a 14 session journey through personal and business finances, credit, savings, bookkeeping, taxes, and long-term planning.
