On Thursday, December 7, Ventures clients, staff, community partners, and elected officials came together to launch the next phase of one of our most unique and exciting projects. After the recent renovation of Ventures Marketplace, our retail store and business incubator in Pike Place Market, we are prepared to continue expanding the impact of the Ventures Marketplace and all of our other incubation programs.
Since its founding nearly ten years ago, the Ventures Marketplace has enabled hundreds of our entrepreneurs to showcase their products in a retail environment for the first time. Since then, the Marketplace has given nearly $1 million in revenue back to our entrepreneurs through retail sales. At the Marketplace Launch, we gathered to celebrate the achievements of our clients and chart the path ahead for 2018.
We were grateful to be joined by our closest friends and partners, including Viviana Lopez of VR Seeds and Stones, Rudy Castillo and Dwight Prevo of Wells Fargo, Lillian Sherman of the Pike Place Market Foundation,Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda, and Mayor Jenny Durkan.
From its humble beginnings, the Ventures Marketplace has flourished and now hosts products from more than 75 Ventures clients from across the Puget Sound region. Our home in the historic Pike Place Market means that you can easily access affordable, unique goods from local entrepreneurs right in the heart of downtown Seattle.
In 2018, we are planning to expand our incubator programs by increasing our online presence, piloting new projects, and spreading the word about this unique program. Learn more about the Marketplace and how to get involved.
