Mother's Day 2From the Desk of the Director

With Mother’s Day on May 8th, and just coming off of the celebration of International Women’s Day in March, I wanted to take a moment to highlight the amazing achievements, dedication, and passion of the women in this organization, both internally and externally.

In my life, I have had the great fortune to be surrounded by beautiful, strong, independent, and forward thinking women; my beautiful sisters, mother, and friends. As a non-profit geared towards empowering and educating entrepreneurs, and as an entrepreneur myself, I am inspired daily by the many strong female voices that help empower us to achieve our mission.

At Ventures, 68% of our clients are female entrepreneurs. Two thirds!

It is amazing to watch these individuals fully go after their dreams and succeed with the help of our program. These women are wonderful examples of leaders who show all of us that anything is possible; by living your life fulfilling your dreams, you can positively affect your family and our community.

I am also surrounded by a very talented team who support our clients from start to finish and make our programs thrive. Our team is comprised of mostly women who not only are experts in their fields, but work collaboratively to drive forward the big goals we have for our organization, and for our clients.

Seattle is the #10 city in the United States in terms of female entrepreneurs. I am proud to be a part of this vibrant city and community, pushing innovation forward with diverse voices, and bringing forth solutions to problems, while creating new opportunities. I am even more proud to say that there are such strong women leaders in our community, that at the forefront of driving those ideas forward.

Take a moment to look around at the women in your life.

Who has mentored you, supported you and helped you achieve your dream?

It is important today, and always, that we recognize their hard work and appreciate their love and unconditional support in our lives.
