Jacquee sets and implements Ventures’ fundraising strategy and promotes a culture of philanthropy among staff and board. Jacquee discovered Ventures while holiday shopping at Pike Place on sunny afternoon. She learned that the retail store, Ventures Marketplace, was much more than a store, rather a program to lift people out of poverty. From then on, she knew it was the place for her.
She had first learned about the impact of economic empowerment during her year as an AmeriCorps VISTA in rural Indiana where she independently managed a countywide tax program that refunded a record-breaking half a million dollars back into the community. She followed her passion for service at United Way of King County, where she managed recruitment, training, and coaching for the fourth largest AmeriCorps team in the nation. After two years of National Service, Jacquee continued to seek opportunities to use her skills for good; managing volunteers, in-kind donations, and meal service at Mary’s Place, a homeless shelter, leading programmatic and budget strategy, and serving on a City commission to develop and recommend equitable policies to the Mayor.
Jacquee’s role at Ventures combines her passion for empowering others and skills as a trained advocate, communicator, and problem solver.
Jacquee enjoys both writing and traveling and would love to start a freelance writing business that enables her to work remotely from anywhere in the world.
