Troy Hill

Member of the Board of Directors

Troy joined the Ventures Board in 2017.

Troy has been helping businesses for 30 years with name awareness, marketing, and advertising. Being involved with Ventures allows him to extend his passion to assist both staff and entrepreneurs. Additionally, he’s excited to build relationships outside the organization that will result in funding, both by individuals and corporations.

Troy and his husband of 25 years Paul Verano have owned The Confectional for over 10 years in Pike Place Market. Through that experience and coupled with his tenure in broadcast sales, his skills will benefit Ventures.

Troy graduated from the University of Oregon in Eugene and stayed in the city for 10 years. Being in a small city allowed him to get to know many small business owners and learn how to be a great salesperson. Seattle has been his home for the past 22 years. Additionally, he’s enjoyed mentoring students at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business.

A recent career change has shifted Troy away from the for-profit world. He’s currently enrolled in the UW Certificate program for Fundraising Management and looks forward to focusing this education and his past experience to help improve lives in the Puget Sound community.
