Renée Martin

Member of the Board of Directors

Renée joined the Ventures Board in 2018.

Renée is passionate about economic empowerment and has experienced first-hand the inspiration derived from engaging directly in Ventures mission as a volunteer business coach for our amazing entrepreneurs.

Renée has over 20 years of experience in sales and business development. She has run a global channel business, led international market expansion efforts and launched several international start-ups before transitioning to the social sector. Renée has a degree in English and political science with an International Studies minor from Boston College. She discovered her love of teaching, while in graduate school at the University of Washington in Art History.

In her current role, Director of Catalyst Kitchens, FareStart’s global impact initiative, Renée leads both a consulting practice and a non-profit membership network that launches, sustains and scales food-related businesses and integrated training programs to empower individuals with barriers to gain and maintain employment. Through her work in the nonprofit sector, she has learned that one of the most effective ways to remove barriers to employment is through entrepreneurship.

Born in Tacoma, Washington. Renée has lived, studied and worked internationally and is energized by the opportunity to learn and explore new things, places, and languages. She is currently working on improving her Spanish and finds the creativity of Ventures entrepreneurs endlessly inspiring.
