Bart Cornelissen

Bart joined the Ventures Board in 2018.

Bart currently is Vice President Finance for the END Fund, seconded from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The END Fund is the only private philanthropic initiative solely dedicated to ending the most common Neglected Tropical Diseases. Prior to his current role, Bart led financial management for the Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases teams in Global Health at the Gates Foundation for the last three years. His charter included working with partners on enhancing their financial and organizational maturity and internally managing the financial portfolio of the drug and vaccine investments. Prior to the foundation, Bart held financial leadership roles across Novartis, DSM, and Archroma. Bart holds a Master in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Bart grew up in the small town of Leerdam in the Netherlands. Bart comes from a family of small business owners who believed in giving back to their community. Bart has been engaged in philanthropic work from his early age and has been part of several NGOs. Bart is drawn to Ventures given its mission of helping launch and support entrepreneurs.

Bart felt that his experience in Finance and in working with startups could benefit the Ventures organization.
